First Observations of Stimulated Emission and of Stimulated Raman Scattering in Accentric Cubic Nd$^{3+}$:Bi$_{12}$SiO$_{20}$ Crystals

Abstract

Laser action (in the $^4F_{3/2}$–$^4I_{11/2}$ channel) and stimulated Raman scattering were excited for the first time in an Nd3+:Bi12SiO20 single crystal at room temperature. All the observed stimulated emission and multiple Stokes and anti-Stokes lines were identified.
